Pay: $120,000 – $160,000 per year

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator with 10 years of extensive experience in database management and administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing our database systems while ensuring high availability and performance. You will work closely with development teams to support database-related requirements and provide expert guidance on best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

– Database Design and Implementation:

– Design and deploy robust database systems based on organizational needs.

– Implement database solutions that enhance performance and scalability.

– Performance Tuning and Optimization:

– Monitor and analyze database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.

– Implement indexing strategies and optimize queries for maximum efficiency.

– Backup and Recovery:

– Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity.

– Regularly test and update disaster recovery plans.

– Security Management:

– Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulations.

– Manage user access controls and permissions effectively.

– Troubleshooting and Support:

– Diagnose and resolve database issues promptly to minimize downtime.

– Provide support to development and operations teams for database-related queries.

– Documentation and Reporting:

– Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and policies.

– Generate reports on database performance and capacity planning.

–Collaboration and Training:

– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements.

– Mentor junior database administrators and provide training on best practices.

Qualifications:

–Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

–Experience:10+ years of experience in database administration with a strong focus on [specific database technologies, e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL].

–Technical Skills:

– Proficient in SQL and experience with database programming languages.

– Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus.

– Knowledge of database replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions.

–Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator) are preferred.
